PeninsulaMommies Camp Out

This weekend we had a Mock Camp Out with my mom's group (PeninsulaMommies.com). We set up four tents all with activities in them... noodle necklaces, coloring, TP roll binoculars, and plastic bug inspecting. The kids had a great time, running from tent to tent. We also made pine cone birdfeeders and lanterns out of babyfood jars. But the big hit was the fire truck that came to visit while we were camping :) They also brought an ambulance. AND NO... we did not have an FIRE... I asked them to come, haha!

First Day of School

The boys both had an awesome first day. Despite mommy being a nervous wreck, and having a lump in my throat all day. Sending them both off went pretty smoothly. Noah was soooo excited to go, the only problem I am having is keeping him busy for the morning time before he goes, because Gabriel leaves 4 hours before he does. Noah is on a half day. The other problem is that Noah is losing his nap. He has fallen asleep on the bus on the way home everyday this week. And he is a grumpy pants when he gets home. We may have to do some bedtime adjusting. Gabriel has done excellent. And I am so excited to see what this school year brings. Last year, he was actually starting to read by the end of the school year, so I am expecting him to be reading like a pro very soon :)

CPO Family Day at King's Dominion

This past weekend we went to the Family day for CPO's at King's Dominion. It is the first time in a REALLY long time that we have got to go and really just enjoy some family time!! We spent the whole day there, the boys rode LOTS of rides together. It was kind of funny actually because we got to see both the boys in a few "freak out" moments with there own personal fears. Gabriel loved going up to all the characters and giving hugs!! He just loved that, but Noah was terrified of them. As you can see in the pick he ONLY went up to scooby doo, because he loves scooby doo, but he wouldn't get any closer than that. Noah is my little dare devil when it comes to rides though. Actually right after we saw Scooby we took the boys on a miniture version of the boat ride... you know the one that rocks back an forth, the big one goes upside down. But this kiddie version only just rocks a bit. Noah got in the highest seat and just squealed with excitement everytime it rocked. Gabe on the other hand, got right in the middle on the bottom most row, and completely FREAKED when it started to rock, the lady had to stop the ride. It is funny how different they really are. I have decided that Gabriel's gonna be the kid that likes haunted houses and things like that, and Noah is gonna be my coaster buddy. Speaking of Coasters... It has been a loooooooong time since mommy has ridden one of those, because it seems like everytime the opportunity arrises to got to a theme park I am pregnant.... well not any more BUDDY. Jason was sweet enough to just watch the kiddos and let me ride whatever coaster I wanted. I had a blast. And my personal opinion the Volcano at King's Dominion is the BEST!!!

Open House Night

We were so blessed this school year. We met a good friend over the summer named Cassie. She is in my book club and the boys just love her. She decided to go back to work this school year working as an assistant teacher. And Gabriel got soooo lucky to be in her class. She is the one with blonde hair. YEA FOR MS. Cassie (aka Mrs. Patel). His other teacher is Mrs. Ebaugh, I don't know much about her, but I know everything will be fine with Cassie in there. And when I was taking Noah's shot in I ran into Gabriel's preschool teacher from last year. She was sooooo sweet, she pulled me into the office and told the principal that Noah needed to be in her class this year. I was sooooo relieved, because I just love Gabriel's teachers last year they are both excellent. The boys have both been so excited about school and now mommy can relax a bit too!!

Back to School Haircuts

When the Miller's came to Town

The Miller Family Clan came to Virginia for a nice long weekend visit a few weeks ago. We had such a good time. Cora (my sister-in-law) came down a few days before everyone else with my mom and dad. We took her to The Jamestown Museum. I had never been there before either, and I loved it. I have vowed to take the boys back once it gets a bit cooler, it was quite hot that day. Cora and Dad got up one morning and went metal detecting on Yorktown beach, and then the mom, the kids, and I got there and decided to take over.

Daddy and I kept throwing a few nickels and dimes down so the boys could find them. They were sooooo excited to actually find some treasure. When everyone else arrived we all went down to Yorktown again for "Shagging on the Riverwalk" we had a great time watching everyone dance. The only brave soul in our group was Tasha... imagine that, haha!! But we all cheered her on.
The next day it was bright and early for a deep sea fishing trip. I had soooooo much fun!! My heroes, mama and Cora, kept my 3 kiddos all day so that I could go on the fishing trip. And then Sunday after church we all headed down to the beach again for a picnic.

Thank you everybody for comin' I am so glad that I got to show you around our town. I know with us moving around so much that it isn't always possible for you guys to visit me where I live, but I am so glad that you did while I was in Virginia.
