All about Gabriel

Just thought I would take a moment and tell you all about what Gabe has been into this past year... I meant to do this around his birthday but mommy is a bit slow and sidetracked these days. Gabriel is just the sweetest most sensitive little man you will ever meet. He is a GREAT big brother. He loves playing with Noah and when they are with others Gabriel is always looking out for his little brother. And if you want to see him get distracted real quick just walk in the room with Abigail. He is constantly trying to get her to smile. Gabe started preschool this year and he has just wowed his teachers with his reading. Over the summer he pretty much taught himself phonics, by using a computer program. School is great and he has lots of buddies. He sometimes gets into trouble for wanting to socialize during learning time, though. And he cracks the bus driver up because he is always the last off of the bus, he has to say goodbye to everyone! He loves superheroes, sometimes I think I would do better to just get rid of all the other toys and just have dress up clothes. His favorite is Captain America. For Christmas he got a bike and he just whizzes around on it. I am looking forward to summer when he can spend more time on it and learn to ride without the training wheels. This year he got brave enough to try out swimming by himself with thelife jacket, and by the end of summer he knew how to tread water. We also tried a team sport with him, Soccer, and he was a little pro at it. My boy is getting to be so big I can't hardly believe that he is already 5 years old.

Soon to be...Ensign Ehlenberger

Has a nice ring to it doesn't it.... Well that is what he will be in January 2009 after he is commissioned. He got promoted to Limited Duty Officer! So we had a major change of plans, we were literally a week away from leaving here for Hawaii. But now we will be staying put until Jason is commissioned. Congrats Jason!!! Two MAJOR promotions in one year, you can't get much better than that.

Valentine's Day Party

This was taken at our Peninsula Mommies Valentine's Day Party, and I just thought it turned out so cute I had to share.

The star of the Show

All the Family came over one Sunday after church and of course little Abby stole the show. She was the center of attention. Don't ya just love the little sunglasses. Uncle Darin and Aunt Cora picked those out for our soon to be little hula girl.

First time Sledding

Noah and Gabriel had a great time sledding for the first time. We couldn't have been in a better place to do it.There were all kinds of little hills behind Stacy's barn.

Riding the Horses

I have to say that this was the most exciting part of our trip home!!! for the boys and for mommy. They had such a good time, neither of the boys wanted to stop. And the both asked several times afterwards if they could do it again. Mommy also got a nice break from the kids during nap time and went on a ride with Stacy. It was wonderful!

Uncle Stacy's helpers

Uncle Stacy told the boys they could help him in the morning with feeding the horses. He said we needed to be up early, by 9AM... he doesn't know MY boys very well does he. They were up before Dawn RARING to go. So after watching Noah stand at the window with this very disappointed look on his face for over an hour, I finally called Stacy and said, "They are waiting on you" It was the sweetest thing. Noah and Gabriel were not afraid of the horses at all, they marched right up to them with carrots in hand and fed them. The also got to feed the chicken, and check out the barn. Noah said, "That barn has a lot of cowboy stuff"

Gabriel is FIVE

For Gabriel's fifth we took him to chuck E cheese for the first time. It was such fun!!! The boys had a blast playing games, and mommy and Daddy even played a few as well. Mommy made his cake. It is supposed to look like the sky and have superman flying, but when I went to the store to get superman, all they had were these little figurines. Oh well, it taste good anyway!!!
