Ferdy meets his Family
Our New House
We haven't really taken pics of our new house yet. We have just been so busy unpacking and now mom and dad are here visiting. But we are IN IT, and that is the main thing. It feels soooooo good, to have a house again. We all needed some room to stretch out. Here is a little sampling of pictures we have taken over the past month or so in our house. We moved in on Memorial Weekend.

Abigail and Daddy on the Porch Swing. We have a big porch with enough room for a couple of rocking chairs as well as the swing.

This is the boys completely PASSED OUT in the playroom... even superheros need their rest!

Abby found a hidey spot in the new empty cabinets.

And mommy posing on my GIGANTO counter in our kitchen.

Driftwood
I love all the driftwood that is on the beaches here. It is just piled along the shore and looks like a work of art. I have been aching to take my camera down there and spend some time taking pictures of it. The kids love exploring the beaches, there is so much to see and do. But even they will tell you that the best thing is the driftwood... of course that is because it is their own natural playground.

Anacortas Water Festival

Seems like there is a festival every weekend here, we haven't managed to get to all of them and still we have been to...
The Tulip Festival, The Holland Happening, Mussel Festival, and The Waterfest in Anacortas. What's even funnier is that last weekend we were headed to the Water Fest in Penn Cove and decided to stop in Anacortas for breakfast and Lo and Behold they are having a festival too. Sooo... we just stayed put, LOL!
They had lots of great crafts there, a Corvette car show, boat building exhibition, and a Children's area. The boys got to build their own boats in the children's area. They had a blast! You know that Gabriel has been aching to "invent" something, so it was great for him to get to use that little creative mind this weekend. We also stopped off at the cub scouts booth and they made a marshmallow catapult. And he got a REAL CUBSCOUT Bandaid holder, which he has been carrying around and showing everyone since..., "I have this scout bandaid holder, because I am going to be a SCOUT soon, and if anybody needs a bandaid I have one!!!"

Our Newest addition... almost

So I realized the other day that I hadn't posted on the blog about our new puppy yet. So here he is!!! He is a blue great dane. His name is Ferdinand, we will probably call him Ferdie for short. He is named after Ferdinand the Bull from my very favorite children's book. So just in case you have never heard of it, Disney made a short of the book.
We are hoping that our Ferdinand will be just as Big and strong and just as gentle and passive as Ferdinand the Bull. The top picture was taken a few days before we picked him out, he was only 4-5 days old. The last of them are pictures from this weekend he is 3 weeks old now. Just now starting to wobble around on his legs. He won't be coming home with us until Mid-June, which is just perfect because it gives me enough time to get everything unpacked from our move.

Fort Ebey Bluff Trail
After church on sunday we decided to drive south and we turned into Fort Ebey to check it out. I have such a hard time going with the flow sometimes. I kept telling Jason no we don't need to stop here, that wasn't the plan for today. But he said, "let's just relax and enjoy the day... we don't have any agenda." So I did, and we had a wonderful time. We stopped and decided to hike bluff's trail which led up to the Fort and Gun platforms. Fort Ebey was originally built as a Coastal Defense during World War II. We had such fun with the boys "finding the hidden fortress." And we saw lots of wildlife and views along the way.
Mary Ann's Kitchen
We found the BEST restaurant this weekend by accident we were going to go to another cafe that we have been to before, but it looked like it was closed. So we went to turn around and turned into a parking space right in front of Mary Ann's Kitchen. It was such a sweet little old house turned into a cafe. The food was absolutely outstanding. They put us in a back room with only one table, which worked great for us. I didn't feel like I had to worry about the kids getting too loud and disturbing people, and it really felt like we were just eating dinner at home... with better food. The staff was amazing they kept checking on us and talking to the kids. It is our new favorite place to eat. In fact we ate there on saturday morning and sunday I had to talk Jason out of going there again. I think we will definitely be back next weekend though... yum!!!
