Gluten Free Breakfast Pizza

Jason and I wanted to order pizza one night. Usually I make Noah his own pizza when we do pizza night. But being in a new place I haven't been able to find a grocery store with the things I need to do that. So on the fly I came up with this as a substitute. Noah was quite proud of it. BTW eggs are Noah's absolute favorite food so he was lovin' it!!

Breakfast Pizza

Pizza Crust = Gluten Free Pancake

Tomato Sauce = mayonnaise

Cheese = scrambled eggs

Pepperoni = "Naturals" Oscar Meyer Ham (cut into circles of course)

They Check-in but they don't Check-out!

Jason and I were driving around getting to know where everything is on the base. For those of you that have never been on a base they label EVERYTHING! So we just happen to see this sign while we were driving and it sent us both into a fit of giggles. Hope it gives you a smile today!

Whidbey Winery and Pie Shop

We have been trying to explore our island a bit on the weekends. A Couple of weeks ago we found the Whidbey Winery. Actually we had been driving awhile and I had to go potty really bad. Jason told the Navigation to find the nearest restaurant and it just happened to be the pie shop at the winery. We decided to stop and have lunch and a piece of pie. Mmmmm it was yummy! The area was beautiful!!! And they had this great little swing set out beside one of the barns. So mommy's potty break ended up being one of the best stops of the day, haha!!

NC to WA

Well I have been dying to post a few pics of our trip... it has been hard to decide which ones to post but I wanted to give you a little tasting of it all. When I get a chance I think I will do a slideshow with the rest of the pictures. We had such a wonderful time traveling. It took us a week and a half to travel from NC to Washington. This is a sampling of the things we did along the way... sorry the pics are backwards in order.
The National Cowboy Museum- we had so much fun dressing up like cowboys and visiting the old western town.
The beautiful Sunset as we drove thru New Mexico
The National Petroglyph monument just outside of Albuqurque and Santa Fe - Daddy surprised the boys with Junior Ranger outfits. If you know my boys, you know that they LOVE to dress up.
The Arches National Park - I don't think I have EVER seen anything so magnificent!!! I could have stayed there for a week.
... we had quite a few adventures in between the Arches and Whidbey... but those will have to wait for the slideshow.
The last (aka FIRST) picture is of Deception Pass - The bridge that you cross to get to Whidbey Island. We are sooo lucky to live in such a beautiful place!!!

The Health Adventure

This past Sunday I took off with my friend Stacey and our "bible boys", Gabriel, Noah, Jonathan, and Matthew, to the Health Adventure in Asheville, NC. It is so wonderful to have some buddies for the boys to play with here. And they had such a good time in Health Adventure... but they wore us mammas OUT! Stacey and I decided that the best room there was the room that was all closed off for the younger kids. The boys could play and play and play... and Stacey and I were able to take a breather without worrying about where they were. They even had two rocking chairs for us tired mammas! I did catch them sitting down at one point though. It was a Car exhibit where they had to buckle up and watch a movie that took them thru what it was like to be in a car crash... haha, only BOYS would be soooo fascinated with a car crash.

Light Sabers

My sister brought the boys light sabers when she visited last week. They were SO excited and have spent so much time everyday since then battling each other in the back yard. Once they even took them to the park with papaw. Papaw had intended to play frisbee with them, but when they couldn't seem to get the hang of throwing the frisbee they came up with a new plan. Papaw would throw the "alien space ships" and Noah and Gabriel would protect the planet with their light sabers. And no worries when little noah missed the frisbee... Papaw would assure him that he didn't miss what actually happened is the "aliens just got scared and flew away from him".

Hendersonville Model Railroad

The boys and I went off with Papaw to visit the Hendersonville Model Railroad. It is set up inside the old Hendersonville Station house. There are 3 rooms that are filled wall to wall with this model railroad. It is absolutely extraordinary!! There is so much detail in every inch of this model. 6 or 7 tracks at least that are all intertwining, Tunnels, lakes, towns... but what is more amazing is the detail inbetween all of that. There are waterfalls and rivers with fly fisherman alongside. Luggage carts filled with little suitcases belonging to the waiting travelers at the station. Construction sites with little men on ladders. You can almost see the busyness of the little people in all the different settings. I Looooved it!! and so did the boys. Though as little boys are they were most impressed with the thomas train. There was only one Thomas train and he was going really fast. As we looked at all the details every few minutes the boys would scream, " IT'S THOMAS" as he went zooming by.... and a few minutes later, "IT'S THOMAS"... and again "IT's THOMAS" as if it were the very first time they had seen him EVERYTIME!!! I just love THAT

Ready for an Adventure

When Jason and I arrived at my parent's house Mamaw allowed the kids to open their Christmas presents from them. The boys were particularly taken with the explorer bags that Uncle Stacy put together for them. In the bags are magnifying glasses, flashlights, shovels, notebooks and pencils, a headlamp, and whistle. It is just perfect for our camping trip, and the boys don't want to go anywhere without them.

Abby got a purse from Mamaw. It is so precious! It has a cell phone, powder compact, keys, and change purse! She just loves it. Especially the phone, she is a talk-a-holic already, haha!

(this is Gabriel and Noah with there "serious explorer" faces)

It is a rare occasion that Jason and I get to be present for anyone's birthday besides our own kids, but this year we were able to celebrate my Daddy's birthday with him.

Our Grill MASTER (my brother darin) went to work on some Ribs and BBQ chicken!! MMMMMmmmmm!!

And Abby found a new buddy in Uncle Stacy!!
