Easter Egg Hunt 2010

Yes it is May and I am just now getting around to posting Easter pics. Sorry Mom!! I also have to apologize for the lack of pictures, I forgot to charge my battery the night before and only had enough battery life to get a few pics of the easter egg hunt. I know, I know... BAD photographer. That and these kids are just so darn fast I couldn't get a decent picture of them during the hunt.

Apparently Abby had some issues with this Gold egg. This was one of the special prize eggs but she didn't want it. We kept trying to get her to put it in her basket but she just didn't want that egg.

This is Abby before the hunt started waiting IMPATIENTLY!!

Building a Bird House

I am TRYING to catch up on this blog!! Here are the last bit of pictures from daddy's visit. I can't leave them out :)
The last weekend daddy was here we got out a book that Jason and I had gotten for the boys about building a bird house. I had planned to wait until summer but thought it would be a fun thing for them to do while papaw was here. So all the guys went to lowe's together and picked out the wood and the style of bird house they wanted to build. I am so proud of my little birdhouse on my patio. I just hope that a little bird will like it too!!

Picnic at cliffside beach

One Saturday while daddy was here we took the kids down to cliffside beach for a picnic. It was a perfect day... unfortunately that meant that everybody and their dog (literally) were there, but we were able to find a quiet area where the kids and pup could play in the water. Papaw had a little fun too... he decided to throw a stick out in the water and tell Ferdy to fetch it... while I was still holding on to the leash!! I got a bit wet and the kids got a lot wet, but we had a great time.

Rock Hunting with Papaw

Daffodils and Daddies

We were hoping the Tulips would be in bloom while my daddy was visiting but it was a bit early for those. We did get to see the daffodils in bloom. It is really amazing to see a field full of flowers. After taking lots of pictures of all the flowers we headed to LaConner to see the shops. We ended up stopping in the ice cream shop and getting a little treat.

MMMMMMmmmmm!! that is good stuff!

More Please Daddy!! He can't resist when I bat my eyes at him like this.

A New Bike

Last summer we discovered the most ingenious way of teaching a kid to ride a bike. We took the pedals off of Gabriel's bike and had him run with it and learn how to balance that way. Within a few days he was riding like a pro. We wanted to do the same thing with Noah but Noah's bike was just a little too high he couldn't touch the ground with his whole foot just his tippie toes. I did some searching on the internet and found this run bike called strider. It is for kids between 2 (and even a little younger) and 5 and it doesn't have any pedals. It is just for running with. Go do a youtube search on strider bikes you would be amazed at all these teetiny kids riding bikes. I mean really riding. They run for a stretch and then they pull their feet up and balance. The idea is to learn balance first and pedaling after. So I got one for Noah and he loves it. It took him awhile, he doesn't have the best balance, but he is really getting it now. He is totally enjoying being able to ride bikes with his brother. I think in a few more weeks I may try to get him on his regular bike. After that the run bike will be Abby's.

Gabriel is SEVEN

Gabriel had a great birthday this year. I know that eventually he is going to be insisting on having big birthday bashes but I will always remember these more intimate family parties. We spent the day celebrating at the Convergence Zone which is a new indoor recreation area on base. Daddy took them in the batting cages for the first time. They didn't use the machine just a teeball post but they had a blast anyway. We had pizza and then came home. He had a transformers birthday cake that was just for him (aka not gluten-free :) Noah didn't get left out though he had a gluten free chocolate brownie. Mamaw sent some cool presents an electric pencil sharpener (requested by mommy because he draws with his colored pencils constantly) and lots of paper. He was especially excited about the graph paper... just look at that face, haha! Daddy got him two bionicles. It was his first time doing a bionicle so Daddy helped him with the first one. After that he had it figured out and did the second one on his own. It has since become his favorite thing and he used his birthday gift card from grandmother to buy two more.

Feeding the baby

Just love this picture!! I know my facebook friends have seen it already but I couldn't NOT post it on my blog. It is just too cute!
